Enniskerry Montessori & Afterschool care require an experienced, caring, creative and dynamic “Montessori Assistant Teacher / Early Years Practitioner” to join our team.

The role is part-time and covers a selection of mornings and afternoons each week from Sept to the end of June each year..

    Montessori (9am to 12noon) - Wednesday / Thursday & Friday
    Afterschool (2pm to 5.30pm) - Monday & Tuesday

Enniskerry Montessori & Afterschool offers education for pre-school and primary school children from ages 2 ½ to 10 years. Our facility was custom built in 2006 with the sole purpose of bringing a first-class Montessori and Afterschool service to Enniskerry and surrounding areas.

Please note:

    Start Date: Immediate
    This is a permanent, part-time position and will incorporate mornings & afternoons.
    We operate on a term time (Sept to June).
    Applicants should submit a covering letter outlining how you would meet the required criteria for the position together with a curriculum vitae.
    All initial first round interviews with selected candidates will be conducted via telephone.
    The successful candidate will be appointed subject to Garda vetting and reference checks.

Roles & Responsibilities:

    Assist in all Montessori curriculum planning, teaching and arts & crafts preparation (9am-12noon).
    Assist in all elements of Afterschool care from collections (on foot), homework and activities (2pm-5.30pm).
    Awareness of early years regulations, relevant legislation and policies.
    To guide, observe, stimulate and supervise children in a safe and caring environment as part of a small childcare team.
    To act, if required as a key worker to specified children.
    To work in close cooperation with the Owner, Manager, Parents and Guardians.
    Ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all children in your care.
    To assist in the planning and implementation of an age appropriate stimulating program of activities which will enhance the child’s natural growth and development.
    To ensure all quality and safety standards are maintained in the service at all times.
    To undertake First Aid training, Fire Safety, Manual and Food Handling courses as required.
    Ensure confidentiality in all areas of your role.

Successful candidate must have:

    Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent.
    Previous Montessori experience is required.
    Knowledge of Aistear, Síolta and the Early Years (Pre-school services) Regulations is essential.
    Certificate in First Aid and Children First (Child Protection) training would be an advantage.
    Excellent communication skills in order to document learning and maintain all relevant records.
    Fluent English is essential.
    Knowledge of Irish language also desirable.


Minimum of 22 hours / per week (Between 9am to 12noon, 2pm to 5.30pm)
