Applications are invited for the position of Financial Analyst, supporting the Asset Development: function within ESB Generation & Trading
Reporting to the Financial Analysis team leader, the position involves investment strategy analysis, financial modelling of specific projects and providing support on various financial issues on an ad-hoc basis.
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for:
Review and challenge of investment proposals for new and existing projects or business initiatives to ensure a sound commercial basis for undertaking such opportunities exists
Development and maintenance of financial spreadsheet models to assist in the assessment of new business opportunities and for the analysis of the performance existing assets
Assist business managers in forecasting, validation and update of business financial plans
Monitoring technical / financial developments and advising on their impact on financial forecasts or investments for Asset Development
Performing analysis of share purchase agreements and other transactional documents as required
Carry out financial due diligence on potential acquisitions
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Strong analysis and modelling skills
Good business writing, communications, interpersonal and presentation skills with strong IT skills
A commercial mind set with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
An ability to act independently
2 years post Qualification period is required
A recognised professional accounting qualification/ Other Business Qualification is essential.
Transaction services, Financial Modelling or other similar experience would be beneficial
The role is based in ESB’s Head Office, East Wall Road, Dublin 3, but may include rotation to one of our other Dublin offices.
ESB will support you through formal training and work shadowing and will work with you to develop your career path in ESB.
Rotations are a feature within the Finance area.
