W8 Innovation based in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim is seeking to recruit a Director to manage and develop an Innovation, Education and R&D Centre for the Quarry and Construction industries under Industry 4.0. The centre will focus on robotics & cobotics, artificial intelligence, software development, virtual & augmented reality and 3D industry printing. This role will be offered on a 3-year contract initially.

The role will involve:

• Managing and developing the W8 Innovation, Education and R&D Centre.

• Recruiting key hires and leading and supporting the team to achieve centre objectives.

• Working closely with all stakeholders to build a strategic plan for the centre. (W8 Board, design & construction team, industry partners, academia, Enterprise Ireland and Local Enterprise Offices).

• Managing and monitoring the W8 Innovation centre budget, cashflow and financial plan on behalf of the CLG company.

• Managing and delivering the education and training program, working closely with Skill-net, ETB’s and the Erasmus program.

• Setting up W8 Innovation project management framework, setting out reporting, control, escalation and approval mechanisms.

• Managing the R&D centre and identify and develop Robotics Process Automation (RPA) projects.

• Maintain an appropriate governance structure as well as ensuring full compliance with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant third level qualification in a Construction/Engineering/Manufacturing discipline

• Knowledge of the Construction and/or Quarrying Industry

• 5 years senior leadership experience managing teams and budgets

• 10 years project delivery experience of complex technology within industry

• Knowledge and experience of Robotics and Industry 4.0

• Proven ability to engage and build relationships with partners and stakeholders
