I am a totally dependent paralysed man living near London. I employ between 2 and 4 live-in carers (or personal assistants) normally starting in July or January*.
My family and carers share 2 neighbouring houses about 50 km. or 30 minutes by train from the centre of London. There are lots to see and do both on and off duty, depending on COVID 19.
They must be patient, flexible, kindhearted, hard-working, keen to learn, non-smokers and possess a full driving licence. They also need to be able to speak English well.
My carers work consists of caring for me, helping me in my office and sharing house cleaning. I currently employ a gardener and do it yourself man part-time to help us. My carers normally work 2 days on and 2 days off. However, sometimes the schedules have to be varied. Carers normally have 3.5 days a week off duty. My carers mostly work with a colleague but must be willing to work on their own.
The working environment is within a modern spacious house. Each carer has their own bedroom and shares the kitchen and a family bathroom with the other carers. Free broadband wireless internet access is provided.
