Offaly Centre for Independent Living is currently seeking to recruit Personal Assistants for their Residential Respite Centre; Clochán House located on the HSE Campus, in Tullamore, Co.Offaly.

This is a rewarding and exciting opportunity for an energetic, motivated, organised and caring individual. This is a Monday to Friday position.

At Clochán House, our service follows the ethos and philosophy of Independent living.

Our commitment is focused on delivering a social care model of support, which focuses on empowering and enabling people with physical and sensory disabilities to achieve independent living, equal participation and inclusion in mainstream society.

Some Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assisting the residents with Activities of Daily Living, including with both personal care and practical tasks e.g. dressing, washing, meal preparation and environmental hygiene

• Facilitating independence and community involvement i.e. driving for social trips, shopping, banking, community activities

• Ensure dignity, privacy and independence is maintained and respected at all times

• The Personal Assistant will be flexible in approach and may be assigned additional duties from time to time.This list is not exhaustive.

The ideal candidate:

Two years experience in providing quality care is essential

Must hold at least QQI level 5 in Healthcare Support or QQI level 6 in Social Care

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Reliable and trustworthy with a strong commitment to providing high levels of care

Full clean drivers licence

Fluency in English

Ability to work as part of a team, use initiative and be mindful of health and safety and other organisational policies at all times

Completion of SAM (Safe Administration of Medication) training is desirable

Working knowledge of HIQA standards is highly desired
