Park Academy are currently seeking to hire an experienced Bus Driver on a week on, week off basis.
Part-time role: Week on, Week off (working hours will be discussed at interview)
To ensure the provision of a quality transport service to the children and to Park Academy Childcare colleagues.
To foster a positive relationship with the children, ensuring you are friendly and approachable.
To collect, transport and drop off the children to and from their destinations safely. This will include helping children to cross the road on school drop offs and collections and helping to carry school bags etc.
To assist with the preparation of the children for travelling on the bus, to include helping them finish breakfast/put on coats and bags. Where Bus Drivers do not have formal childcare training, a common sense approach should be taken.
To liaise with Crèche Managers and the Transport Manager regularly to ensure a smooth running of the transport service. To attend communication meetings with the Managers (e.g. as part of the weekly manager meeting) as required.
To account for any cash or credit cards entrusted to your care and to store these safely. To keep receipts for all expenditure
To aid the communication process between childcare teams and bus drivers by asking questions and participating in dialogue regarding upcoming trips and events. Our end goal should always be the provision of a professional, safe, fun trip or event for the Children.
To represent The Park Academy Childcare as a professional and courteous body, through interaction with parents and also with the public when on trips/outings.
The children look up to the Bus Drivers, and therefore you are required to be a good positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour when with the children
Legislation Responsibilities. To comply fully with all Road Safety Authority regulations, Acts of the Oireachtas, Road Traffic Acts, Health and Safety and Working Time Directives and other acts in relation to use of buses and roads transport. To comply fully with the requirements for ‘Driving for Work’
Category D Licence essential
Clean Garda Clearance will be require
Ability to carry out assigned routes on time
2 or more years experience working with groups (highly desirable)
