Luttrell House Créche & Montessori offers childcare to children ages 10 months to 7 years. The curriculum is based on the Montessori method of Education with a great emphasis on play and the emerging child. Our ethos is to embrace and follow the national quality and curriculum frameworks and offer a child centred, child-led environment.


We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Deputy Manager with a broad knowledge and interest in the needs of children.





Minimum FETAC level eight on the national qualification’s framework


Knowledge of Aistear and Siolta curriculum.
At least two years’ experience in a managerial/supervisory role within early childhood
Knowledge of underpinning frameworks, curriculums, theory, and legislation.
Access to own transport and full driving licence
Proven track record as a leader and team player
A sincere and genuine love of children
To be self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
Excellent organisational skills and effective communicator
Proficient in IT and high attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent use of initiative and ability to cope under pressure.

Creative and promote strong relationships between staff, children, and families.


Roles and responsibilities



Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Crèche.
Maintaining the utmost safety, welfare and needs of all children are always met.
Continuously ensuring all records are up to date and organised for compliance checks.
Managing staff, ensuring that all new staff and students receive induction training.
Conducting staff appraisals, setting objectives, and monitoring these objectives throughout.
Working with staff to develop routines and programme plans for each room in the Crèche.
Ensuring staff have a professional appearance and are dressed appropriately daily.
Leading frequent staff meetings and promoting continuous professional development of staff.
Ensuring adequate staffing (i.e., staff to child ratio is always maintained)
Overseeing, developing, and implementing crèche policies and procedures.
Conducting monthly fire drills.
Liaising with the Chef regarding our menu and related purchases.
Managing parent queries to improve communication.
Working closely with the Creche Directors ensuring that the creche runs efficiently.
Stand in for breaks, holidays, and absence.


Responsible for administration duties and on-online funding and electronic platforms such as PIP, Early Years Hive and Ecce.
Ensuring compliance with Tusla – the Quality regulatory framework, DES & Pobal Inspections
Managing all enquiries from parents in an efficient and effective manner.
Ensuring that high standards of health, safety & hygiene are maintained and in line with the health & safety legislation and ensuring the building is always in excellent condition.
Ensuring all HACCP compliance documents are up-to-date and liaising with the Supervisor on a continual basis.
Answering email queries for childcare places and ensuring that these places are filled on a


Job Type: Full time 35 to 40 hours per week

Salary: €13.00 per hour and increasing to €13.50
