Fully Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician

Lehane Motors are seeking career orientated Fully qualified Motor Technician to join our team on the Airport Road, Cork City. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established dealership. Our busy workshop is equipped and developed to the highest of standards and we are committed to delivering excellent customer service.


Qualified technician
Experience working within in a franchised dealership advantage but not required.
Ability to clearly complete job card write-ups with a thorough understanding of the requirements of franchised standards for warranty write-ups.
Good communication skills written and oral must have the ability to identify and explain additional work required to service advisors or customers as required.
Previous experience working with systems diagnosis equipment and modern electronics.
Identifying mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
Road testing vehicles to identify faults and advise of any necessary repairs
Communicating with parts department to acquire parts required and keeping the Workshop Manager and Service advisor aware of progress.
Working to manufacturers standards and following the process set out by the manufacturer and the Company to thoroughly complete job.
Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Completing necessary Brand courses.
Full clean and valid driving license
Self-motivated with high-quality standards.
Capacity to be a team player to ensure the smooth running between departments
Be efficient, have good organisational skills and producing high quality work consistently.
Strong IT skills would be an advantage


Communicating with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform workshop manager if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary.
Diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repair after confirming authorization by customer.
Saving and tagging all parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer.
Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
Notifying service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
Road-testing vehicles to spot check work performed.
Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
