We are looking for a Health & Safety Co-Ordinator to join our team.

Job Requirements

Report to site risk manager and be able to work and interact with heads of departments 
Proactively champion the health and safety function, and safe working practices across the company’s activities and operations and advise the management team regarding health & safety best practice.
Monitor legislative updates, ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly.
Regularly review and update Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and Safety Statement, communicating any updates across site.
Contribute to and be involved in and ensure the Safety Induction Training of all new employees and contractors, and maintain documentary evidence of same.
Carry out Safety Audits including systems and procedures and physical conditions compliance.
Investigate, record and report accidents, incidents and near-misses promptly, ensuring any corrective actions are implemented without delay with department managers.
Provide relevant accident information for H.S.A. and insurance purposes.
Manage emergency preparedness with regard to people, process and property.
Identify new and on-going safety related training requirements, ensuring all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time with records maintained.
Ensure that correct PPE is availed of and issued at all times by all relevant employees with records maintained.
Work with HR & Occupational Health service provider in the management of injury cases and employee return to work
Review contractors’ Insurance, Safety Statements, Method Statements and Safety Compliance.
Attend regular Health & Safety meetings.
Liaise with organisations such as the H.S.A. & Insurers and other relevant professional bodies.
 Necessary Skills & Requirements

A Degree in occupational Health & Safety.
2+ years of professional experience is desirable.
Must be comfortable in carrying out training, risk-assessments and other Health & Safety reports. 
Excellent written and oral communication skills with emphasis on ability to provide and explain reports accurately. 
Excellent organisation and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Up to date with Legislation, Guidance, Advice & Compliance.
Proactive in identifying positive & negative acts, ability to follow through with realistic corrective & preventive actions
FMCG’s in a food processing environment 
Skills which would be an advantage

Manual Handling Instructor and Assessor.
Occupational First Aider.
Behavior based safety methodology & implementation.
