Job Description:

Good Day Deli is an award winning sustainable foods cafe serving a mix of local, seasonal and organic food with a commitment to sustainability in our food system.

We are looking for an Experienced Sous Chef to join our driven and accomplished team. The successful candidate will have relevant experience in creative, progressive and fast paced kitchens.

Good Day Deli has a very busy kitchen, with an experienced, committed and well organised team of accomplished chefs. Please only apply for the role if you have the relevant requirements.

This is a full time role with an immediate start.

You'll work with the best local + seasonal ingredients, work in a fast paced, professional kitchen, be part of a talented, respectful team, learn every day + contribute to plans for a progressive + always evolving business.

We are an award winning restaurant + were awarded best cafe in Cork + Munster last year by the @irishrestawards ! We take great pride in serving unique + delicious dishes, with a total focus on sustainability + customer experience. We are super ambitious with big plans for the future!

Requirements:

Demonstrated 3 years experience in a professional kitchen.

Creative with excellent skills in service, planning, preparation and presentation.

A drive for high standards, maintaining excellent standards at all times.

A passion for and commitment to contemporary food, provenance, sustainability, zero waste and high quality service.

Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively in a tight knit and well organised team environment. Ability to support our Head Chef in achieving objectives.

Excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Strong experience in HACCP, stock management and waste management.

Systems efficiency, organisation, planning, waste management and attention to detail.

Focused and agile chef with an ability to adapt.

Experience in baking, catering and special events are desirable.

Interest and experience in global cuisine, research and trends.

Desire to grow and exceed expectations at all times.

Deep understanding and commitment to HACCP legislation.
