Job Description:

GTT Communications are seeking a Networks Operations Centre (NOC) Technician– supporting clients in the telecoms industry.

This is a technical role focusing on Optical and Ethernet technologies within the company. Ideally the candidate will have NOC experience but we are also open to taking on someone at a Graduate Level.

Requirements:

CCNA or CCNP or Degree Level Qualification in Engineering related field – preferably Telecomms / Datacomms modules.

NOC experience.
Experience in telecoms or network support.
Comfortable working within an expanded and very fast paced team environment.
Strong PC skills.
Full clean Irish driving License is desirable.
Understanding of SONET/SDH principles is an advantage
Ethernet & TCP/IP & OSI experience is a distinct advantage
CCNA/CCNP or equivalent (Juniper) a distinct advantage

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

The primary role is to assist in the smooth operation of the GTT Global Network under the supervision of the NOC Manager who is responsible for the Global Operation.
Assisting in customer test & turn-up on the following platforms: DWDM/OTN/SONET/Ethernet technologies.

Provide technical support for customer reported incidents
Trouble ticket incident management
Customer circuit trouble shooting with the aid of industry standard test equipment
Liaising with all other GTT NOC Engineers and Network Operations department in other countries.
Updating customers on technical queries via email and phone.
Remotely monitor outside plant localization and follow up with local utility companies.
Report writing and creating / maintaining inventories
Monitoring and resolve real time network alarms
Non-routine duties will be allocated as deemed necessary.

Please Note:

Candidates must be living in Ireland, within commuting distance of Dublin.

This is a shift based role (12hrs per shift).
This role is not a 'work from home' or 'work remotely' position.
