We are seeking to recruit a Senior Music Therapist to provide a music therapy service to children using LauraLynn Ireland’s Children’s Hospice services as part of an integrated nurse and therapy care team. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Qualification in Music Therapy.
In order to work as a music therapist in Ireland you must complete an approved college Music Therapy curriculum. Currently, in the Republic of Ireland, the only place offering a full qualification on Music Therapy is the University of Limerick.
Member of Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT).
Experience of working with children in professional children’s setting.
Experience in palliative care and experience of working with bereaved families.
Evidence of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to creatively establish music therapy resources and provision within the hospice setting.
Evidence of high standards of written and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise with parents, relatives, carers and co professionals.
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of current legislation relating to children and young people including best practice in safeguarding children.
Experience of providing community care services.
Experience of working with volunteers.
Recognised supervision or mentoring training.
