DYT is currently recruiting for a part-time Administrator to join our team to help deliver DYT’s vision and implement our year round programme of activities for DYT’s members.

About Dublin Youth Theatre

Dublin Youth Theatre (DYT) was founded in 1977 by educational psychologist Paddy O’Dwyer. DYT’s mission is to deliver quality creative experiences that promote artistic, personal and social development foryoung people aged 14-22 in Dublin through a full and varied drama workshop programme. Open to young people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, national origin, sexual orientation, abilityor faith, DYT’s artistic policy is to maintain a high artistic standard in its productions by engaging leading theatre artists and skilled, experienced youth theatre practitioners to deliver productions of excellent, excitingand challenging theatre made by young people.

DYT productions have featured in Dublin Theatre Festival,Dublin Fringe Festival and toured to Britain, Austria, the former U.S.S.R, Belgium, Sicily, Denmark, Shetland Islands, Slovenia and Germany. DYT is a proud member of Youth Theatre Ireland (formerly the National Association for Youth Drama).

Dublin Youth Theatre is proudly supported by the Arts Council, City of Dublin Youth Services Board and Dublin City Council.


The Administrator will work closely with the General Manager to coordinate an organization run by a voluntary Board and which boasts a large youth membership. Along with the GM and Artistic Director, the Administrator will help deliver DYT’s vision and implement a year round programme of activities for DYT’s members. This will include the day-to-day management of the organization including; child protection, general administration, marketing, preparing funding applications, and liaising with stakeholders. The nature of the role demands flexibility and adaptability and they must enjoy working with young people.

As this post involves working with/contact with young people, any offer of employment is contingent on the successful candidate being Garda vetted and receiving child protection training.
