Job Description:

As an MDE Installations Electrical Installer you will be a key member of the MDE Installations team and will play a crucial role in a National Electrical Framework Programme by ensuring safe installs into domestic and commercial properties. Your key responsibilities are to provide excellent customer service to the client’s customers. Health & Safety is your No 1 priority while completing a quality job and meeting the required business / individual targets and KPI’s.

The Role: 

Our team of Electricians is responsible for the installations and completion of required remedial works identified on site.

Upload all job details onto a handheld mobile field technology device on completion.

As an Approved Installer, you will be required to maintain a first-class customer service and provide advice to the customer on the installed equipment.

The Installer shall adhere to and maintain compliance with all MDE Installations Health and Safety procedures.

This is a permanent position that offers security and a competitive salary as well as an opportunity to work with a progressive company. The role includes a van, tools, fuel card, PPE, uniform and a mobile phone.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety is our No1 KPI and installers shall adhere to all MDE Installations business and industry health and safety procedures.
Installations into domestic and commercial properties in line with industry/company rules and regulations.
Installers shall ensure that all interactions with customers, MDE Contact Centre Staff, the client and internal stakeholders are managed within agreed time scales and in an appropriate manner.
Installers will be the customers face of MDE Installations and shall provide a quality service.
The Installer shall have ownership for effectively solving customer issues, complaints and enquiries on site while keeping customer satisfaction at the core of every decision and behaviour.
Ensure all equipment meets industry standards by completing testing once installs are completed.
Make sure customers’ supply is in safe working order upon completion of installations.
Reporting to the Technical Manager / Supervisor, the role requires ongoing excellent customer service, while completing a quality job in a safe manner.
Identify and escalate issues to your Line Manager / Supervisors.
Build excellent working relationships with our Contact Centre Agents and Health & Safety Officers.
Meet personal/team qualitative and quantitative targets
Maintain the integrity of the client’s customer data.
Other duties as assigned.
Working flexibly when scope or prioritisation changes are made or required.
Adapt to job role and responsibility changes as determined by business needs.

Health & Safety

MDE Installations employees must always observe MDE Installations Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Policies and Procedures.
DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN ANY ACTIVITY OR ENVIRONMENT, WHICH YOU FEEL IS UNSAFE OR UNHEALTHY. IF IN DOUBT ASK YOUR SUPERVISOR.
Employees must clear up any debris, rubbish and dispose of as per company Waste Policy.
A TIDY WORKPLACE IS A SAFE WORKPLACE.
PPE such as hard hat, googles, gloves, dust mask, hi-vis clothing and safety boots must always be worn.
All accidents/near misses, no matter how minor, must be reported on safety reporting app & to MDE Installations Supervisor to be recorded and dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.
Risk assessments shall be carried out for every task as a mandatory process on HHD.
A JSSP must be conducted each morning identifying any unforeseen risks.
Installers shall ensure that utmost care shall be taken where the Works are to be undertaken ‘in the vicinity’ of exposed live electrical equipment and apparatus.
Where the Works are to be carried out on electrical apparatus, the ‘5 golden rules’ shall be observed unless otherwise specifically stated and allowed.
All working at height equipment will be assessed prior to its use to ensure that it is equipped for the task.
Customer Service

A right first-time customer experience will be a key success measure.
Always respond effectively and quickly to complaints from the customer on site to ensure customer satisfaction – keep the customer and all key stakeholders informed.
Deliver a world class customer service in an efficient and consistent manner.
Establish, build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with both internal (Contact Centre Agents, auditors, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, SHQE etc) and client auditors.
Provide inputs to the customer experience team to improve the customer journey and our NPS score.
Quality

Ensure a positive experience for every interaction with customers.
Understand and meet the client’s requirements.
Achieve excellence in all our work from planning to completion
Not only meet but exceed the customer’s expectations.
Comply with any recommendations identified through our stringent auditing process.

The Approved Installer is a key member of the MDE Installations team and needs to help create a culture of open and honest communication within the business and the sharing of ideas and best practice.

Take an active participation in their development, including regular 1-2-1’s with your Line Manager, participating in regular training and coaching sessions. Assist in building an environment which supports teamwork, where everyone is committed, loyal and takes pride in working for MDE Installations.

As a fully trained MDE Installations Approved Installer, you’ll provide an excellent service to customers which puts Health & Safety first and has the customer at the heart of everything we do. You’ll act with empathy and integrity and by doing this, play an important role in helping us achieve our business aims and objectives.
