Role Overview: In order to contribute to the development, finance and ranking status of the university, TU Dublin has the need to develop and build strategic partnerships and alliances, locally, nationally and internationally. Such partnerships include those with NGO’s, advocacy networks, universities, corporations and representative organisations. Relevant resources with the background, experience and expertise in business intelligence and market analysis to deliver across the more International aspects of this remit are not currently available within TU Dublin and a dedicated role is necessary. This role will lead and manage the development of International strategic partnerships and alliances through: • Quantification and analysis of relevant environments • Assessment of strategic need and associated strategic plans/initiatives • Identification, coordination and cultivation of relevant opportunities • Provision of expertise in partnership development and legal agreements The role will report through the senior management team of TU Dublin, known as the Presidents Group/University Executive Team and will play a pivotal role in informing key decisions and actions within the University. Key skills and experience include the need to be able to position the university within relevant aspects of: • International partnership development and engagement. • International research network links and advocacy body engagement. • Market research, profiling and identification of relevant opportunities for programme development. • Institutional recognition, reputation and profile awareness. • Benchmarking, including rankings and other comparator mechanisms. Drawing on a numerate and analytical background, the role will lead and direct the capture, analysis and interpretation of relevant data and information in the development and achievement of the strategic International objectives of the University. These objectives encompass, in particular, establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships and alliances relevant to academic programme and research related opportunities, industry links and networks. This primary input will be accomplished through exploring, and quantitatively analysing, trends and developments in International Higher Education, markets and partnerships and translating these into concrete, fact-based, scenarios and options.The post-holder will work across academic/operational units within TU Dublin and across International higher education markets, networks and key sources of contextual and specific market intelligence, including state agencies, Government and existing partnerships etc. This role requires extensive engagement and interpersonal skills, together with an ability to identify discrete opportunities that will create a lasting impact.
