Principal Accountabilities Direct and manage academic programmes within the School. Implement Quality Assurance and Enhancement procedures. Management and provision of direction to staff in the School. Involvement in the development, agreement, implementation and management of policy at School, College and University level.Person Specification The ideal candidate will demonstrate the appropriate mix of knowledge, experience, skills, talent and abilities as outlined below: Knowledge • A first or second class honours bachelor’s degree in a Real Estate or a related discipline from a recognised degree awarding authority, or an approved equivalent qualification OR hold a first or second class honours bachelor’s degree in an alternative field, with significant experience (industry, teaching or research based) in Real Estate or a related discipline (Essential); • A relevant Master’s Degree from a recognised degree awarding authority or an approved equivalent qualification (Essential); • A PhD in a relevant discipline (Desirable); • Have appropriate professional body membership (SCSI or equivalent). [Note: Master’s Degrees must have been obtained by thesis/examination] Experience • Not less than five years’ appropriate experience, subsequent to obtaining a first or second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (in industry, academic or via appropriate research) (Essential); • Have demonstrable experience in a managerial or leadership role or roles (Essential); • Demonstrable evidence of research activities and an active research agenda (Desirable); • Significant third-level teaching and quality assurance experience (Desirable); • A track-record of active involvement with an appropriate professional body or relevant industry organisation; • A track record of innovate problem solving.
