Job Duties:
Reading & accurately interpreting engineering drawings.
Welding to a high standard using a three phase MIG welder.
Tacking & final welding steel using a three phase MIG welder.
Operating workshop machinery.
Working in a meticulous manner, paying close attention to workmanship.
Consistently working in line with set quality and efficiency standards.
Preparing products for the next stage of the production process ensuring they are clean & free from any excess weld / splatter / grease.
Working in line with H & S rules & regulations.
Maintaining high levels of housekeeping.
Any other duties, within reason & capability, as determined by team leader.
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential Criteria:
Minimum of 2 years welding experience.
Ability to accurately read & interpret engineering drawings.
Awareness of quality standards relative to the role.
Ability to work consistently to set efficiency targets.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of key H & S requirements relative to the shop floor environment.
Ability to work independently & on own initiative.
Excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
Strong numeracy & literacy skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Basic computer skills.
Willingness to be flexible in accordance with the business needs
Desirable Criteria:
Welding qualification.
Recognised as coded by a relevant awarding body.
Experience within precision engineering.
Experience working with hydraulics.
Knowledge of welding automation processes is advantageous but not essential.
