Practice Accountant

Aileen Egan & Co, Chartered Accountants are a progressive small-sized firm of Chartered Accountants with an office in Tubbercurry, Co Sligo. We specialise in services to small, medium, and large-sized businesses. Our services include accounting, tax, payroll and bookkeeping, business consultancy, financial services, company secretarial and corporate finance.

Due to continued growth and expansion we are now seeking a dynamic practice accountant, Qualified / Advanced Part-Qualified Accountant, to join our office team. You will join a busy vibrant and proactive team in accounting, tax advising and financial planning.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive background of experience in accounts preparation & financial reporting for sole traders, partnerships and companies, corporate & personal tax compliance, advisory services, grant applications and dealing face to face with clients and other relevant parties. This position will suit a newly qualified accountant or an Advanced Part Qualified Accountant with the drive and ambition to succeed, managing a portfolio of clients. You will be working closely as part of a team and contributing to the growth and development of the Practice.

Requirements:

Qualified or Advanced Part Qualified ACA/ ACCA/CPA or a similar accounting-related qualification
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
Strong attention to detail and technical knowledge

Personable and positive attitude, with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organisational skills, able to multi-task and prioritise work effectively and efficiently
The ability to cope with deadlines
Willing to work as part of a team
A willingness to learn and develop professionally
Good knowledge of Relate Accounts, Thesaurus payroll, CORE, ROS and Microsoft Office – competence in Excel essential

Areas of responsibility:

Preparation of annual financial statements and tax compliance returns to include Income & Corporation tax, VAT, RCT & PAYE/PRSI essential to the effective support of the financial function of the client
Managing a portfolio of clients and the provision of business advisory and technical support to these clients
You will be working closely as part of a team to deadlines and contributing to the growth and development of the Practice
