Job Description:

ob Purpose: To oversee the Food Safety & Quality Assurance System within all elements of production and operations through monitoring processes to ensure legal compliance, certification & customer standard compliance and providing support and guidance to Supervisors and Management team.
1. Operations:
a. Ensures that appropriate FSMS & Quality Assurance processes are in place, implemented & maintained within all relevant departments of the organisation.
b. Accomplishes Food Safety & Quality Assurance standards required by: • Assigning and scheduling tasks/actions required. • Carrying out Training & Assessing competency of staff. • Coaching, counselling and correcting Company personnel.
c. Achieves Company quality assurance operational objectives by: • Contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; • Preparing and completing action plans; • Implementing production, productivity, quality, hygiene, food safety and customer service standards; • Identifying and resolving problems; • Completing audits; • Determining system improvements; • Implementing change.
d. Develop & implement the Food Safety Management System by: • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements • Ensuring compliance to certification audits, standard & requirements • Ensuring compliance to customer requirements on food safety • Developing the FSMS, based on PRP’s & HACCP based steps – including Hazard identification, control measure development & implementation, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures; • Monitoring inventories.
e. Validate FSMS & quality processes by: • Establishing product specifications and quality attributes; • Measuring production; • Documenting evidences; • Determining operational and performance qualification;  Writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
f. Maintains and improves the Food Safety & Quality Assurance standards & requirements by: • Completing production, food safety, company, system, compliance and surveillance audits; • Investigating Customer complaints; • Collaborating with other members of Management/Supervisory teams to take corrective action if and when required. • Collaborating with other members of Management/Supervisory teams to develop and/or instigate new systems, technology, procedures and training methods to achieve continuous improvement.
g. Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trends including failed processes, production reports, recall/reject levels, wastage levels, corrective actions and re-validations.
