Codema is excited to announce that we are recruiting for a new Energy Engineer who will support our Project Implementation team in setting up a new “one-stop shop” Project Implementation Unit (PIU) as a go-to place for project owners. The PIU will be created as part of an innovative Horizon 2020 project called DeliveREE and its aims is to develop a structured approach to accelerate the formation of large-scale projects by standardising the project delivery process and allowing projects of various types to be aggregated together to create scale. Such scale is needed to help achieve significant energy efficiency and carbon emission targets and accelerate Dublin’s low-carbon transition.

We are looking for

What you will do

• Assist the Codema team with the development of the Project Implementation Unit

• Assist with the facilitation and delivery of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy projects

• Research the successful delivery and operation of PIUs across Europe

• Development of procedures and protocols for the successful delivery of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy projects

• Development, testing and refining of tools for the evaluation of technical and financial requirements of projects

• Development, testing and refining of tools for the assessment of legal, procurement, communication and risk requirements of projects

• Collaborate and engage with stakeholders

• Collaborate with other Codema teams

• Undertake any other duties as may be required to support implementation of Codema’s Strategy

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in an energy engineering role/energy management/ energy project implementation

• Degree in Engineering, Building Services or equivalent (minimum NFQ Level 7 or 8)

• Understanding of public sector obligations in relation to energy efficiency and carbon reduction targets

• Understanding of the project development and facilitation process

• Understanding/experience of contract management

• Good research and technical report writing skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to guide, actively listen to and influence others

• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

• Fluency in English is essential

• Stakeholder engagement skills

• Strong organisational and time management/planning skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential

• Ability to work with a team and on own initiative

• Ability to follow instructions and adapt quickly

Additional skills that would be a distinct advantage

• Direct experience in the facilitation or delivery of energy efficiency or renewable energy projects.

• Experience in of energy performance or energy supply contracting

• Experience working with public sector organisations

• Experience of the project development and facilitation process for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the public sector

• Additional certifications e.g. CEM, IPMVP, SEAI Certified Auditor, Registered non-domestic BER assessor

• Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple and understandable manner

• Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex issues in a timely manner

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
