Job Description:

Egis Road and Tunnel Operation is looking for a Lead Project Engineer for the Projects Management Office.

Egis Road and Tunnel Operation Ireland (ERTO) is an Irish company established in 2005 and is part of Egis Projects Ireland. We manage Dublin Tunnel, Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork and the Motorway Traffic Control Centre for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). ERTO's prime responsibility is to manage all processes associated with the Operation and Maintenance of the Dublin Tunnel. This includes Toll Collection, Traffic Management, Tunnel Safety Management, Emergency and Contingency Planning, Equipment and Infrastructure Inspection and Maintenance. We are located in the Dublin Tunnel Control Building on East Wall Road, Dublin 3.

Experience in any of the following areas is a distinct advantage:

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Working closely with the PMO Head of Department & Principal Project Engineer, the lead project engineer will assist in managing the Project Engineering Team, assign tasks, and oversee engineering development on individual projects.

· Liaising with the PMO Head of Department & Principal Project Engineer Planning, including identifying project stages and determining necessary controls, taking into account any constraint or conflict with ERTO’s normal day-to-day activities and other Projects, and proposing solutions to manage / mitigate these conflicts.

· Responsible for managing progress, constraints and budget and reporting to the PMO Head of Department on individual projects on a daily basis.

· Liaise with the Project Manager and Principal Project Engineer to ensure compliance with the Procurement procedures.

· The LPE will act in a support role to the Project Engineers.

· Ensuring performance monitoring of Providers in compliance with the Company Contractors Plan,

· Working with the System Owner on producing and developing the project documentation, feasibility study, URS, scope of works, AutoCAD drawings and tender documents.

· Managing and reviewing the Project Engineers documentation including, Proposal documents, Drawing Production, Technical Submittal.

· Ensuring compliance and Implementation of Project procedures, processes and relevant legislation.

· Ensuring Projects are brought in on time and on budget.

· Taking into account any constraint or conflict with ERTO’s normal day-to-day activities and other Projects, and proposing solutions to manage / mitigate these conflicts.

· Interrogate the project design and identify Value Engineering Solutions

· Ensuring performance monitoring of Providers in compliance with the Company Contractors Plan,

· Working with the System Owner on producing and developing the project documentation, feasibility study, URS, scope of works, AutoCAD drawings and tender documents.

· Contact for field construction activities, coordinate multiple teams for the installation

· Carrying out project work and engineering studies as necessary, Market research for possible engineering solutions. Preparation of Feasibility studies and outline scheme designs

· Ensuring compliance Contractor documentation (Method Statements, Temporary Traffic Management Plans, staff training records, induction records, CSCS cards etc.)

· Ensuring all works is carried out to the satisfaction of ERTO, and Service Manager.

· Ensuring delivery of all necessary design and O&M documentation.

· Keeping records of how their time is spent on the various Projects they are assigned to.

· Ensuring the Engineering Change Control procedure is adhered to. Design and/or development documented information is retained and managing change in design and/or development,

· Comply with requirements of the company’s Integrated Management System

· Ensuring Task Orders which involve design and/or development, ensures that they the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard,

· Review, verification and validation processes are in place as necessary, ensuring Problems identified through review and verification are resolved

· Ensuring that the project has been completed as planned and as per the requirements

· Ensures that information security objectives are included in the project objectives and that information security risk assessment is conducted at the planning stage of the project to identify all necessary and relevant controls

· Ensures that information security is a part of all phases of the project methodology

· Apply the Health and Safety rules and comply with any internal rules in force in the company.

Ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:

Qualifications and experience

· Degree qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering

· Strong technical ability in all aspects of Electrical or Building Services Engineering

· Minimum 8-10 years’ previous experience within the construction industry is desirable

· Knowledge & experience of current EN and IEC Standards

· Knowledge & experience of NEN Standards is advantageous

· Experience in Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD and MS Office Suite Software and other engineering packages

· Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy

· Project team management experience demonstrating successful delivery of large projects

· Excellent knowledge in Auto Cad, MS Office and MS Project.

· Excellent reporting, financial management and communicational skills

· Driven to succeed, ability to work on own initiative

· Full clean driver’s license
