The Farrell Group Head Office and 70,000 sq ft manufacturing facility is based in Ardee, Co. Louth, with a UK sales office based in Leeds. The company has experienced rapid growth over the last 4 years and is now seeking to add a number of key roles in this exciting development period.


Sales Executive: Office Furniture

Location: Ireland (Dublin)

Salary: Competitive + bonus + car

Job type: Permanent (subject to 6 month probation period)

Our Office Furniture division has an exciting new opportunity for a Sales Executive. This role requires an accomplished networker who is able to liaise internally within the sales force and support functions to formulate and align strategy to maintain and develop a strong business pipeline.

The Role:

To develop and implement an annual business plan for each account to ensure profitable delivery and business growth.

To join the Farrell Sales Team with specific responsibility for growing the commercial office sales and service business. To capture market intelligence on the different customer segments, their needs and the competitive set so as to determine the current value proposition for Farrell and to target areas for contract growth and guide new product / service opportunities.

To identify key segments and sweet spot customers that Farrell can sell to, while the company focuses on expanding its product portfolio, connected with the trends and needs in the market.

To achieve sales targets by using the Explore, Exploit and Sustain model used by Farrell, and capturing the prospect pipeline in the company CRM.

Responsible for all aspects of client relationships and sales cycle including: sales to new and existing clients, price negotiation, pipeline management, training, and marketing support. Must be able to prospect, qualify, and close multiple opportunities in parallel, while maintaining ongoing business partner relationships.

To maximise the profitability of the customer portfolio and extended portfolio by sourcing new and exciting suppliers and partners.

Work closely with the Sales Managers in other business divisions, developing strong networks and aligning strategic direction and coordination.

Develop successful sales techniques and share with the team.

Participate in an employee-oriented company culture that emphasises quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.

To work closely with the marketing team to build a brand presence and use all social media channels to identify, connect and build relationships with key decision makes in the market.

Skills & Experience Required:

A minimum of 4 years‘ sales experience within a B2B environment.

Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience in business management and sales/ marketing would be an advantage.

A self-starter with a strong commercial focus.

Experience of working to and achieving/ exceeding targets and KPIs on a regular basis.

Demonstrable previous success in new business development.

Strong customer service and relationship skills.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Influencing and relationship management skills.

Relevant industry experience in solution sales/ Office furniture.

IT Literate (MS Office).

The Recruitment Process

We would like interested parties to attend a virtual presentation in Ardee on 18th August to present a 15-20 minute PPT presentation on the following topics:

Brief background on who you are, how you approach sales and how that is successful.

2-3 case studies of previous successful projects where you have brought a company on a journey for opening conversations to a sale and then growth over time.

If you were charged with exploring and exploiting new sales opportunities in Farrell, how would you do that? Present a short outline plan. (Market trends, key competitors in this space, routes to market, sales process)

2-3 ideas around innovation, design, customer needs and service and how to maximise these in Farrell.

We would anticipate the successful person would start with Farrell in September.
