Reporting to: Head Chef

Purpose of the role: To assist the Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen ensuring that departmental standards are maintained whilst ensuring minimum wastage and maximum customer satisfaction.

Key Communications: Head of Departments, Restaurant, Bar, & Kitchen Porters

Roles & Responsibilities:

Ensure full adherence to Hygiene and Safety in accordance with the Hotel,Health and Safety policy and the Health and Safety at work Act
Assist in the training of existing and new staff in accordance to the hotels standards
To pass on all knowledge that will help the hotel in its day-to-day running
To make sure all food production is up to the hotel standards in co-ordination with the standards of performance manual
To make sure staff food is appetising,nutritional and varied and ready on time for the staff in accordance with the staff meal times
Limit the wastage in the kitchen by working methods and control of stock, i.e. rotation, proper storage
Ensure temperature checks on all hot and cold units are done and recorded
To comply with the roster, for availability to work, time keeping and to follow the hotel procedures
Be actively involved in the kitchen hot plate during peak service periods
Liaise with maintenance regarding efficient and safe working of equipment and ensuring all staff are fully trained in safe operational procedures
Candidate Profile

Minimum 2/3 yrs experience in 4 star property or similar
Good team player with the ability to work under pressure
A passion for cooking/can demonstrate creativity
Hygiene and HACCP experience
