Our staff contribute hugely to making Marymount a centre of excellence in specialist palliative care and elderly care. To reach that standard, our goal in the HR is to help select, develop, facilitate, regulate, support and recognise our staff in a professional and respectful way.
Marymount University Hospital & Hospice is an independent voluntary teaching hospital and hospice governed by a Board of Directors. Marymount provides an inpatient service for older persons and a specialist palliative care service, including inpatient unit, daycare and community services. Marymount strives for quality and integrity in all we do.
Marymount is approved by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland for higher medical training in palliative medicine and is affiliated to the Medical School at University College, Cork. An active teaching and research programme is in place.

We are now inviting applications for the following post
Maintenance Operative (30-39 hours per week, permanent post)
Each Candidate must:
Have 5 years relevant experience in a building, industrial or similar environment
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Have a capacity to identify and solve maintenance problems.
Have the potential to develop in the post.
Have undertaken or be willing to undertake further studies relevant to the post.
It is desirable that each candidate:
Have gained experience at general maintenance in a large organisation.
Have experience of work practices in the Health Services.
Have the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Have a knowledge of health and safety regulations and requirements such as risk assessment and hazard control as they relate to working in the Maintenance Department of a hospital.
Be able to deal with staff and management at all levels within the Hospital.
Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
Have a knowledge of BMS systems
Have knowledge of fire systems
Be PC literate (Microsoft Office suite) and have administrative capabilities
Have excellent organisational and time management skills
Have experience in contractor management
Have an up-to-date MEWP licence
Have experience in ordering equipment and managing stock control
Have experience in clinical equipment repair
Proactive by nature and a creative approach to the work.
Demonstrable ability to be a strong team player and capable of working on own initiative displaying enthusiasm and drive.
Fluent in English
