We are currently looking for a full time, experienced Plant Fitter/Diesel Mechanic for our quarry in Athlone.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Routine maintenance, repairs and servicing of plant, machinery & trucks

Diagnosing breakdowns and carrying out repairs 

Sourcing, ordering and installing parts on plant, machinery and trucks as required in conjunction with the quarry manager

Scheduling work on site by outside contractors when necessary, ensuring all work is fully approved in advance and then completed to the required standards

Scheduling periodic testing, inspections and maintaining records for same

Ensuring relevant Health and Safety requirements are up to date at all times

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

Leaving Certificate and trade qualification/time served in a mechanical discipline

Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role

Electrical maintenance experience desirable

Welding skills essential

Excellent timekeeper, well organised and competent at record keeping with good computer skills

Full driving licence
