You will work at fault-finding, repair, overhaul and maintenance of farm tractors and farm machinery. These farm machines often include forage harvesters, balers, bale wrappers, mowers, combine harvesters, crop-sprayers, fertiliser distributors, diet feeders, tillage and slurry handling equipment.

Munster Vehicle Sales are looking to hire an apprentice Agricultural Mechanic. This is an opportunity to join an exciting, dynamic and fast-paced Industry.

The overall duration of this apprenticeship is a minimum of 4 years provided all 7 phases are successfully completed. On successful completion of the programme, the learner is awarded a Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft - Agricultural Mechanic. Although the minimum educational requirements for an apprenticeship are Grade D in five subjects in the Department of Educational & Skills Junior Certificate Examination or approved equivalent - some employers may require applicants to have successfully completed their education to Leaving Certificate level.

It should also be noted that while not essential, it may be an advantage to have previous experience of the following subjects: Mathematics, Technical Drawing/Graphics, Metalwork, Technology and Physics.
